Nienke, thanks for offering that out, and I would have jumped at this offer had it not been for the new visa rule changes. Not in the mood to go to Udon/Laos on the 11 hour or so rickety old bus, so was thinking to do a border crossing this time then go to Laos next month. But new rules would give me only 15 days, not 30, so just not viable. Laos it is.
