December 8, 200817 yr Don't forget to check the videos of what the police did to the protesters on Oct 7. And tally up all the casualties from redshirt attacks on protesters. The Pad resorted to arguably extreme tactics that will be their undoing but they're walking a path that the SDS, Black Panthers and Yippies walked in America in the late 60s and early 70s, protest movements that edged further from popular approval with increasingly extreme tactics but which can be said to have played a role in ending American involvement in Vietnam and forcing Nixon to resign. All three groups eventually disenfranchised themselves, as will the Pad. It's no coincidence that the Pad are led by two former close allies and supporters of Thaksin or that one of Thaksin's chief legal counsels, himself a former TRT member, stated after preparing Thaksin's defence last year that he thought Thaksin was the most dangerous person in Thailand (before he fled for the 2nd time). You can't make an omelet .... Edited December 8, 200817 yr by wayfarer108
December 8, 200817 yr It was for Democracy. Duh. Apart from the fact that Democracy is a moveable feast, and misguided idiots can be manipulated into believing they are acting for a good cause, when they are actually not, you clearly have no idea about Thai politics. Have a read of some recent international, objective publications and see what you think. Edited December 8, 200817 yr by APMann

December 9, 200817 yr Author Don't forget to check the videos of what the police did to the protesters on Oct 7. And tally up all the casualties from redshirt attacks on protesters. You mean the video where the PAD run over police with a truck, the video of a PAD member firing a hand gun at police, the PAD member who blew off his leg with a bomb, or the jeep laden with explosives? It was for Democracy. A typical Thai ironically mispronounces it as 'Demo-crazy'

Yep that's the one.... I also like the article about the guy found nacked in a canal with a bullet wound in the neck.... all for "democracy" (thug style) so that makes it all better.
