Some years ago, maybe 20 or so, there was a comedian ?? of sorts who seemed to travel the college circuit in the US, whose claim to fame was the smashing of watermelons with a large mallet type hammer.

Young people would go to his live performances to be in the front section of the auditorium in hopes of getting splattered with the mush.

Does anyone know or remember this comics name ???
