rygertech
Hi all, first time posting so be gentle. Have any of you (ex-pats), who own businesses in Thailand ever successfully accessed funding from V-Cap's or Business Angels for your Thai Venture? Myself (and partner) have ran 3 decent SME's over the last 5 years, but never hit the big time due to a slight lack of IT resources in the Country (specifically e-commerce infrastructure). We, in the past, have secured small ammounts of funding from our 'fellow expats', that have helped a great deal. We now have a unique product that suits this (rather volatile) market, but to make it fly, it's going to need something more substantial. We have Ltd status, vat No and all 'red tape' well covered, but, and it's a big 'but', we are looking for access to any of the above...Especially those VC organisations that may be geared up to deal with 'Foreign Based' start-ups. Any help, advice or otherwise, will be sincerely appreciated. M

chiangmaibruce
There is a Thai Venture Capital association - they have a web site you can find via google or yahoo. Not sure what services they offer - have you spoken with them yet?
Vato
beware of people charging processing/closing fees/notary fees...more than likely they are scammers. simplyask what type of fees are associated, either they will not reply or act like your propostion may not be accepted, or tell you upfront the fees, which they will require in advance. there are no fees with a legit company. Tonybic
I am English and spend most of my time in Bangkok. I would be interested in investing in innovative small businesses or start ups in Thailand.
