babyluvs
Hello, I was born in Thailand in 1978 and moved to the US 2 months after I was born. My family was staying in a refugee camp before my birth and I am not sure which one it was as well. I did have a birth certificate before but it could destroy when my house was a fire when I was little and my parent didn't really know how to get a new one. All I have to prove my birth is my Permanent Resident Alien Card for the US and I really haven't needed a birth certificate for anything because the US accepts my green card as proof of birth. I'm planning on applying for US citizen within the next few months so then I'll have a naturalization paper and what not, so that would count as a "birth certificate" as well. But how do I go about getting my Thai birth certificate? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks
2008bangkok
Do you know if they registered the birth in Thailand, it maybe they didnt if they were refugees back in 1978,maybe you can go to the Thai consulate in US and tell them the little infomation that you have and see what they come up with... good luck
