When I download various updates, including Microsoft the dialogue boxes are in Thai, even though I ticked the English box, How can I change them to give me instructions in English.

I think you run XP and an Thai Edition?! If you use the Thai Edition, you will be not able to change some of the displayed text.

But maybe you try the following:

Go to Control Panel ->Regional and Language Options and look for Display Language and set to English.

That will not solve all of your problem but maybe some.

good question.... its well annoying ..try going into regional settings in control panel and change the location to united states..maybe it is set thailand??If that fails you will have to manually got to the updates website instead of clicking on the automatric updates link..

Also try to change langauge in your explorer settings:

Tools > Internet Options and click on 'Languages' button and set English.
