Apparently SCB is the most difficult.

Most input about Bangkok Bank were better.

All you can do is try the largest branch in town and see if you can get them to understand your problem.

Is there an Immigration Office in Chaiyaphum, or alternatively which would be the closest where able to do a Retirement Extension?

(If SCB won't play ball with "The Letter" elsewhere)

Would be a real bu--er to change banks, apart from this problem with letters they are excellent to deal with.

Wife and I have a few accounts, all Internet operated from anywhere in the world and I find all the branches I have been to very Farang friendly, apart of course from this letter hassle.

SCB UdonT. would be the best bank I have ever dealt with ever.

You could open an account at a local SCB and transfer the funds to it. You might then be able to get them to make a letter stating funds were in the old account prior to move for x number of days.

It depends on where you are at in Chaiyaphum but I think the Korat office is the nearest office for most and it has been reported that they are easy to deal with.

See the list of NE offices. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/post-a65460-...mmigration-offi
