Yes, It will take less than an hour. You need to make an apointment. You can apply for a Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa for visiting friends and family.

Details here.

http://www.thaiconsul.co.uk/downloads-and-visas.aspx

It costs an extra tenner to apply in person. Full details on visas and how to get to the consulate are all on the website.

I always use Cardiff,in and out in less than 5 mins, nice new Multi ''o'' Visa,no hassles for the last 5 years.

Also Birmingham's website: http://www.thailand-visa.com/

Sorry, too late to edit.

And Liverpool's: http://www.royalthaiconsul.com/index.htm

I would suggest that unless something very strange has happened in the lat couple of weeks, then the information on the visa page of Liverpool's website is near utter tosh.

No 4 entry tourist visas anymore.

You do not have to leave for 48 hours.

Each tourist visa can be extended, not only the last one.

As I said, utter tosh.

The last time I used Hull. I was going for O type Non Imm. I used the postal option, I sent it on a Wednesday, and got it back on the Friday of the same week. Taking into account travel ciosts, entirely the best option :o . I was at that time staying with my sister in Ossett.

I was also going to suggest the postal option, to save on travel costs and time.

Alright, alright!! I'm only trying to help the fellow!! Don't shoot the messenger.

However, Liverpool still issue Non O multis afaik. And if he lives in the Merseyside/Manchester area, he may go there and get it on the same day.

same at the Thai consulat in my home town (lucky I am !) somewhere in Western Europe mainland. 5 minutes and out I was with my new non-immi-B-multiple. the Consulat staff was annoyed (same as last year) by the many papers and documents I did bring from the inviting Thai company. they only wanted to have the invitation letter (1 page) and that was it.
