Non Immigrant O Multi

Featured Replies

I am writing (again) on behalf of a friend who's in a bit of bother. Over the holidays, we have scrambled together to get him a marriage certificate and his wife a Thai passport. He is now on his way back to LoS with a double entry TV from Lao.

Where would be the best place in the region to apply for a Non Immigrant O (multi) visa with the basic requirements?

All he can produce is:

* A marriage cert (dated last week)

* His wife's Thai ID card

* About B100,000 - 150,000 in a Thai bank (certainly not B400,000)

Renting only (no house ownership). No children. No work permit.

Based on this, where do you think would be the best/most sympathetic ( :o ) embassy or consulate in the region to apply? P/Penh, KL, Penang. He is even prepared to go to Perth WA and try there.

Any first hand experience or thoughts are most welcome.

On his behalf, thanks.

I would have thought Laos would have been the best bet.

Did he ask about an O while he was getting his TV?

I haven't really payed a lot of attention to that particular thing, but Laos used to be good. That's where I got mine and I don't remember having to show any money. If I did, it certainly wasn't a large amount. Probably no more than a few thousand baht. Granted, it was years ago...

Ah ha!!

I think Lao is good at dishing out TVs, but I haven't heard much lately about Non O multis, so we never considered the Lao option. Thanks anyway, Terry.

He wont get a Multi Non O in Laos.

At the moment Phon Penh seems the best bet. Also good reports from Penang and KL. Also Perth.

Always a good idea to ring and ask

Here is a report from Perth. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Non-Visa-Run...th-t213233.html

There is a good report from PP but I cannot find it.

Found it. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Multi-Non-Im...nh-t233354.html
