Featured Replies

I've lost my Aussie passport and need to fly tomorrow night to Australia. Anybody had experience getting an emergancy passport at such short notice?

No I wasn't pist.

Can't give you a specific answer however, I can tell you that the Aust. Embassy on South Sathorn Road, just below soi Suan Phlu, next to a big Shell Service Station, is very helpful and very focused.

Their tel no. is 0 2344 6456.

Good luck.

well you better get to the Embassey ASAP...

Do you have any other forms of ID?? ... as they can give you a document to travel..

You need to make a police report.

If they are like most embassies you will need that to get anything.

Do you have a copy of your passport that would help?

There will be a trip to immigration besides the embassy.

You are going to have a very busy day in order to make your flight.

I feel like a <deleted>. I found the passport exactly where I had left it, in my travel bag pocket, but it had wriggled itself under a flap in the lining and had only looked ther again as a last resort as I'd already checked it twice.

Call embassy now and leave message "lost passport" and your mobile number you will get a quicker response then. 023446399

Take ID, your're drivers licence? Credit Card? something with photo good. Passport photos if you have? Copy of lost passport, visa? Your return ticket with you also.

Go to police office in building in Suan Plu next to immigration and make a police report. Use this number for english translation if you need it was posted on Thaivisa yesterday 1156.

Walk back around the corner up from the Shell Service station to Aus Embassy. You will fill out application form there. Show them your ticket. They will hurry it up. I think the cost was 2,500Baht this was a few weeks back, you need to pay in cash. Keep receipt you can claim this on your travel insurance or back in Aus when you return. Will have limited validity but no matter. Embassy also require two passport photos, but they are a special size, if need be they will send you to building next door and you can get them done quickly there.

Go back to immigration, (get a copy of emergency passport on way in one of the copy shops, front pages, copy of your police report to take back to Aus with you. At immigration front desk, fill out lost/stolen passport form, show them your ticket. And letter from embassy which will explain why you have an emergency passport. I wasnt given a number at the time to wait, just had to go to the desk they sent me to.

Keep in mind immigration go to lunch 12.00 to 1.00. They will stamp your passport, no cost and you are on your way. Good luck.

sorry, haven't had my coffee yet! The number is 02 3446 300

Australian Embassy, 37 South Sathorn Road, Bangkok
