January 9, 200917 yr But the King is 74 - while we keep him in our memories and hearts - Elvis lives !!! Also David Bowie is 62, Shirley Bassey 73. What a great day the 8th of January is ! Birthday also of Jacques Anquetil (twin to Elvis) probably one of the top five bike riders ever. I have been told that Steven Hawking was born on the same day as David Bowie, but have not confirmed it. All I did was work - there is little else to do in Ca Mau - very provincial Vietnam - all the sidewalks are rolled up at 10.00 p.m. and there is not a sound to be heard after that. Even the mo-cyc riders seem to go to bed at ten. Boring, but you can save money! So thanks everyone - my Mum was 99 last year, so there'll be a big party later this year.

('been there, done that, got the t-shirt...') and, happy birthday... There's a massage parlour right outside my door in the Anh Nguyet Hotel - where some of the riff-raff from Siemens are staying - but all they offer is massage. Thought you were here a couple of years or so ago? Or did you not make it out of HCMC? Anyway - job's done - got my marching orders by e-mail yesterday - leave VN on 31st January - been threatened with a return to Ruwais - Shuwaihat II is now in trouble. I built Shuwaihat I and now looks as if I'll have to return to the scene of the crime. (This is Emirates - Abu Dhabi, but neare to Qatar than to Abu Dhabi city.

I know sum guys that worked out at Ruwais and Shuweihat...waaaay out in the desert. I worked on two different projects at Taweelah over 4 years...not half bad for a Gulf assignment. looks like things may be drying up for us consultant types soon, not many new projects around. A shit job will soon be better than no job at all ...
