Pak Chong Hotels With Pool - Any Recommendations?

Recommended Posts

I'm planning a trip to Pak Chong and want to stay in a hotel with a swimming pool as the lady I will be visiting has a young daughter who loves swimming.

I stayed at the Landmark a few years ago and it was pretty good.

I was wondering if anyone has a recent experience of hotels there.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Rim Tarn Inn 044 313364 is a good choice - air-con, swimming pool, resturant, beer garden. On the same soi are a few good resturants including a nice Japanese resturant on the river.

Also a few top end hotels with swimming pool if you want to stay a bit out of town near Khao Yai National Park.

Thanks Geekfreaklover and benfica.

I've been to Khao Yai before, but will probably go again (even with the 400 baht farang price tag :o).

Thanks for the phone number too - I don't like to book on the internet, so just want to call and ask how full they are (and also if the swimming pool is full, too :D).

Cheers.

I regularly stay at the Landmark, walk-in price is 1k, never tried the Rim Tarn.

I can recommend the Thai restaurant 500m towards Bangkok, same street side, best retaurant outside Bangkok ever according to the missus.

We very much liked the Italian restaurant (also same side Landmark) when you approach downdown

Re Khao Yai - If you have a Thai driving license or work permit, show it at the entrance and you can enter for 40 baht (Same as a local)... Makes a big difference !

Yes - I have 5 year licenses for both bike and car, so will give it a try. The last time I went, the Thais I took in my pick-up paid everything before I remembered to give them my driving license, so they paid 200 baht for me (the farang price at the time) instead of the Thai price. I felt pretty bad about that.

Thanks for the reminder.

On the subject of Pak Chong, does anyone know if there are any farang bars in the town. Been living here a few months now and buggered if I can find anywhere where English is spoken?

Geeklover, I'm sure if your still living in Pak Chong you sussed out the farang spots by now? But if not here's a brief rundown of where to go if your looking for some western company..

When coming into the town from the Bkk direction about 200 metres or so before the Rim Tarn Inn (on the same side) there is a fairly nice German (oxymoron?) Pub and restaurant. The owner's a nice chap and the food is typically German (lots of sauages, potatoes, salads and even saurkraut sometimes). Nice place to go for a beer and a bite in the evening.

If u carry on through town, the next place you'll find is a small open place called Quake..It's Thai run but you'll find westerners in there every saturday night as its right next to the kong tom (open air market) and the chaps normally sit there getting pissed while the wifes spend the cash.

Further up the road in a place called Nong Sarai, you'll find to very decent British pubs..the first one is the Pak Chong Beach Bar, the owners a nice bloke, the foods good (pies and stuff) and there's always sport on the telly.

Just a bit further up from that, you've got the Sports Pub..run by a lad from Bradford..He and his wife have built the pub on some land they own which is quite out of the way, but it is a great location in my opinion, very realaxing environment, good food, draught beer, decent pool table and sports on the tv.

Hmmm, looking at the photo of the Rim Tarn Inn it sure looks like the old "Wan Chai Hotel." Renamed?

How about free WiFi in Pak Chong?

Where to buy the Bangkok Post in Pak Chong?

If you have a tax Id card that will work too. i had mine laminated and keep it in my wallet, along with my license.
