My Ghanaian friend has recieved the paperwork from the school and intends going to Laos for his Non OE visa. His tourist visa expires on Jan 19th.

He will be leaving from Chiang Mai.

Does anyone have any tips,advise etc to pass on to him.

I think that it will be a non immigrant ED visa not an OE.

It might be a good idea to contact the consulate to insure that he can be issued the visa there. For some countries a person can only get a visa issued in their home country.
