How To Play Bbc Radio On A Dial-up Connection?

Featured Replies

Applies to all BBC radio stations played via iPlayer or Real Player. Anyone else having problems?

Any solution -- apart from getting broadband? Thanks.

you will get bbc but it will bug you buffering all the time get broadband or edge on your mobile using bluetooth.

using the bbeb's iPlayer there is a button at the bottom of the playing page to select dial up option.

If you can you can then find the data stream to shove into real player, but that isn't easy.

I'm using a mobile with Edge and the buffering drives me nuts. :o

ABC NewsRadio includes a lot of BBC stories.

No hope of Broadband in my area for quite a while. :D

The BBC did finally give us a link to a ram feed which brought up Real Player and worked. Buffering not a problem on properly-functioning 56k dial-up.

They admit there is a problem with dial-up feeds and 'are working on it'. But it takes forever away from the normal world of commercial media who sink or swim by performance.

It is a disgrace that the BBC doesn't care about dial-up users. Just needs some competent IT staff. They must all be working for better wages elsewhere.
