I have read the pinned updates on visa applications at the Thai Embassy in KL but still would like a couple of points clarifying, if anyone can help please.

1) If I arrive on a Sunday night and submit my application on a Monday morning, how soon will I be able to collect my passport; 24 or 48 hours later?

2) A number of comments are made about showing a Thai bank book but it is not clear how much money needs to be in the bank. Are they just checking you have an account, or does it need to a minimum amount of money in? Do you need a statement or letter from the bank stating that the funds were wired in from outside Thailand?

3) Are you able to show proof of funds by showing bank statements from a bank outside of Thailand?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

1. You will have it back Tuesday afternoon.

2. Reports on this has been from no money shown to the full 400K in the bank. Just take a bank book with some money showing in the accunt. You don't need a letter from bank.

3. Accounts from outside Thailand would not hurt.

Thanks. I think I will put the money in a Thai bank just to make sure.

Tuesday lunchtime.

I took my Thai bank book and a photocopy. They only looked at the copy (I have more than B400K in the bank)

I would think so.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Any time I have dealt with KL, they have been friendly to me and I got my multi entry twice from there. Usual protocol and etiquette, dress politely (no shorts), smile and give them as much paperwork as you can copy.

On the first point, just check there are no holidays for Malaysia or Thailand,

the embassy will take both, to screw up the schedule.
