Featured Replies

hi wonder if anyone can help

i am looking to buy a vw beetle in need of restoration, i am aware you can buy them in bangkok for about 100,000 baht but these have already been restored

the car needs a good engine and floorpan other than that as 'crap' as possible. am looking to pay beween 40,000 - 50,000 baht hopefully less

if anyone can help let me know

thanks

Hi jeztennis,

No offence, but I'm in doubt with your quotations...

40/50 KB with "good engine and floorpan", IMHO forget it! Meaning forget "good" :o

A "good" Beetle for 100 KB in BKK! Wow, nice! I own a pretty '67 VW Beetle here in Chiang Mai, and know a liitle the "beetle things" here: a "not so bad one" you have to consider 150 KB... A "really good" one it's rather 200 KB and more...

Ok maybe it depends what you are meaning with "good one"...

Try a search on thaisecondhand.com, many beetles for sale...

However good luck for your search,

Gobs

Agree with everything Gobs said..

A rotting hulk would probably be dragged away for 40 - 60 here on phuket.. I tried to find a friend one, and turned up a few in the 120 - 150k range but none clean and restored, more than just a donor vehicle but not tidy enough as a daily driver at the 120 end.. The guy I was looking for broke down and spent a mid 200 rice for a tidy one.
