Non Immigrant O Visa Extension

Featured Replies

Hi guys, i was just wanting some info and advice from anyone who may be able to help, i am currently here on a 3 month non immigrant 0 visa which runs out next month and i am wanting to extend it, how can i go out this and what requirements do i need to meet? i have a Thai wife and daughter, but i'm British. Also any one in Chiang mai know where i can go and do this?

Thanks in advance for any help!!

You can get a one year extension of stay if you can show an income of 40,000 baht a month or can show 400,000 baht in your name on a Thai bank account for at least 2 months.

If you don't meet these requirement you can apply for an extension of stay for 60 days based on your marriage, if you show a marriage certificate and take your wife with you. (This is a one time extension only, but would give you time to have the money in the bank for 2 months).

You can extend it for 12 months if you have 400 000 Baht in a Thai bank OR 40,000 Baht monthly income.

This can be done at Chiang Mai Immigration.

You can also get a 60 day extension to visit your Thai Wife from Immigration.

I'm here on a 90 days non im. O (thai wife) visa who expires 1 feb. (sunday)

Went to the immigration Pattaya (Jomtien) and asked if I could make the extention on monday 2. feb.

The officer in the info. desk told me to come on friday 30. jan. and that he only wold give me 30 days extention.

I then showed him the marrige document and told him I got 60 days extention last time I applyed.

He told me they changed the rules to 30 days.

Can anybody confirm this?

Cheers!

Paragraph 2.24 of Police Order 777/2551, ie the new rule in effect since 25 November 2008, again says “for a period of not more than 60 days at a time”, which can of course mean that immigration can give anything less than 60 days, but I have not heard about this being done for less than 60 days.
