Southern Islands - Advice

Featured Replies

Hello All,

Does anyone know any nice beach resorts (& or Islands) in southern Thailand reachable from Hat Yai airport?

I am flying to Hat Yai airport in June where myself, wife and our 4yr old are due to meet friends, HOWEVER there is a chance it will fall through and we already have tickets so I need an alternative plan. Only there for three nights, are places like Koh Ngai or Koh Muk to far?

Koh Tarutao looks nice but can't find many websites with sufficient resorts for southern islands, everything seems to end at Samui & Lanta :o

Cheers all!

Hi middlesexMDS

I'm trying to find out the same thing in another thread.

If it's not too far for you my Mrs says Kho Kradan is the nicest island in the area. Here's a photo http://www.backpackers-around.com/photo-th...radan-beach.php If you google 'koh Kradan resorts' you'll see the accom. You can even stay in a tent :o

Had Chao Mai is nice too but I'm not sure about accomodation.

Hi middlesexMDS

Your mentioned places are good. Couple other places from Hatyai Airport are Lipeh island, and Bulone island besides Tarutao. Though June is in low season already, there still have boats go to Lipeh , Tarutao, Bulone every day.

Search for Lipeh, Lipe, Bulone, Tarutao you'll find tones of websites about them. I really recommend Lipeh if you like snorkeling and diving. Others are also spectacular and worth your coming!!!!

From Hat Yai Airport, it takes one hour and a half to Pakbara Pier by minibus every day. And from the pier is only one hour and twenty minutes to Lipeh, which has lots of resorts and rooms. Tarutao has nat'l park officials, while Lipeh and Bulone have local people. Bulone is one hour from the pier, and Taruato about half an hour only.

Search 'Islands Of Thailand' in Facebook and there is a page there with lots of info and resorts on the islands in that area

Checked it out but there's not really much info. I'm not really a facebook expert though... When I search there's just 8 groups you can join... And they seem to be people trying to market their business anyway.

Hey Guys you should try calling Kate at Silk business travel in BKK ...she is very friendly, helpful, and one of the cheapest and most reasonable agents i have found here in Thailand..she is a wealth of information about travelling and staying in Thailand and can also help with flights, hotel bookings, tours etc etc

I reccommend you give her a call or email her and she will do her best to find the best options for you.

Her number is +662 678 5334-6 and email is [email protected]

Best of luck
