88-year-old run over by train in Bangkok

BANGKOK: -- An 88-year-old woman was run over and killed by a train at a railroad crossing on Phetchaburi Road in Bangkok Saturday morning.

Nipha Chunhasiri was killed by a cargoes train at 9 am, police said.

The train driver said he did not see the woman because of thick fog so he could not stop the train in time.

Metha Chunhasiri said his mother was hearing-impaired so she did not hear the train's whistle.
