st11x
G'day, Does anyone have the source file for the Thai repositories? I am still using the US ones and it is very slow on some days. I run the Ubuntu server, and I do not know how to pull up a list of repositories by country to change to the nearest one. thanks Matt
Crushdepth
On the desktop edition there is an option to test all the different repositories and automatically select the 'best' one. The Thai repositories usually are not the best. I tend to get the best results from the Australian and/or Chinese respositories, but it also seems to vary according to what ISP you are using. They can be pasted into '/etc/apt/souces.list' deb http://th.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid multiverse deb-src http://th.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid multiverse deb http://th.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid-updates multiverse deb-src http://th.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid-updates multiverse And.... deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu intrepid-security main restricted deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu intrepid-security main restricted deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu intrepid-security universe deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu intrepid-security universe deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu intrepid-security multiverse deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu intrepid-security multiverse Good luck. johnnynmonic
I've got better download speeds from this mirror than the Thai national mirror. http://mirror1.ku.ac.th/ Has more than just Ubuntu, also more than just intrepid. Cheers.
niller74
Yes, you may very well experience better speeds from the below link depending on your provider. I use CAT/TT&T at the moment and the ones I posted work very well with those providers.
