Contrary to Farang country, where endless loudness would drive customers away. Never been regaled by a huge tv screen over the supermarket checkout in your ex-neck of the farang woods? I hate being a captive audience to the continuous stream of drivel, but I have to buy food, and no there aren't any corner shops.
