The best way to prevent beach erosion is the natural way. That is to NOT CUT DOWN the Mangrove forests that shield the land from storm waves, stop erosion, and also serve as a nursery for young fish, shrimp, and crabs...which provides an off-shore fishing industry when the young fish are grown. Manrove roots have ben shown to be a perfect place for young fish to hide until they grow big enough to go out into deeper water, where they become a valuable resource for local fishermrn. But, everyone wants ther house on the beach, so Mangrove forests sre cut and cleared for ths houses. Then the storm tide has no obstruction and slams ashore, causing beach erosion. One mangrove forest is worth a dozen manmade sea-walls....and costs a lot less to take care of.
