I have a big box of books I no longer need, fiction, non-fiction, etc. I would like to send them off to a worth cause, such as a school, legit charity, etc. that can use them. I would appreciate any recommendations along with address of any such institution.

Bangkok Patana School in Bangkok every now and again will have a book drive to give to a local school, usually will send some students along with the books and will read to them an teach them english. You might be able to contact some one there who would be interested in them, try www.patana.ac.th and look for some contacts.

Are these English language books?

I hate to break it to you, and I will get told off for saying so, but Thai people do not generally read books, especially books of a foreign language. A university would be the best place to off load the books, but even then I doubt they will get read, which is a shame.

I'll take em. I like books. Any books.... I'm trying to build a library, but it's dam_n hard to stock books in Thailand. I'm serious. If you decide not to donate them, I'll take them off your hands (as long as they aren't books like the "Twilight" series, etc...) More hardcover, the better :o

Soi Cat and Dog organization out Suk 71 (soi 42)

Soi Cat and Dog Foundation sells the books that are donated to them (cheap) and they are a good cause!

Depending on where you are located, I would reccommend the North Star Library in Pattaya. It has a good selection of books in English, German and French. They seem to provide a good deal. They are operated by the Redemptorist Church and also have a day-care center for young kids.

Just a thought !
