Hi,

My retirement visa is set to expire on March 28th. Due to a busy travel schedule, I'd like to go before the 28th to get it renewed. How far ahead of your date will their let you get a new retirement visa? 10 days? 2 weeks? Is there a rule about this?

Jere

Up to three months in Pattaya I understand.

Moved to visa forum for up to date information.

Within the last 30 days is normal.

But don't wait until the last day. I suggest at least a week before minimum.

As Joe said, don't leave it until the last minute in case of problems. I always apply about a month before.

All the above assumes the OP is discussing getting another yearly extension of his permission to stay stamp. He cannot "renew" or get another visa at immigration in Thailand.

Correct. He wasn't very clear.

My permission to stay stamp for my retirement visa was set to expire on February 22, 2009.

Because I was going to be traveling outside Thailand for about 5 weeks, I went to the Suan Phlu Thai Immigration office on January 14 to apply for a 1 year extension. Thai Immigration stamped my permission to stay date through February 21, 2010. :o

2-3 weeks before will be ok
