If you had to choose three of your favorites albums, any type of music, what would the top three be?

Mine, after a longtime thinking are as follows:

1. Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd)

2. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (Genesis)

3. The Rise And Fall of Ziggy Stardust And THe Spiders From Mars (Bowie)

Ok, they are mine, what are yours?

1. Good News for People who Love Bad News- Modest Mouse

2. Funeral - the Arcade Fire

3. The Meadowlands- the Wrens

No particular order, excluding greatest hits compilations;

Guess Who - Live At The Paramount (Much extended version of "American Woman")

Red Rider - Neruda (Sheer poetry long before Tom Cochrane decided to be a pop star)

Jethro Tull - Auqalung (we all know an Aqualung and a Cross Eyed Mary)

...and many more I'll recall later I'm sure.

Hippies........

1) Vulgar Display of Power - Pantera

2) Powerslave - Iron Maiden

3) Tubular Bells - Mike Oldfield

Albums everyone should own:

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds

The Stone Roses - Stone Roses

Marvin Gaye - Whats goin' on

Can't think of another 2 coz I'm 5 large Tiger beers into the night, but gotta say, Stone Roses - Stones roses, one of the best albums of all time, and for sure nothing since has been better.

Stone Roses are <deleted>!!!

Prof fart you fool, rush to the shops purchase the album, listen and enjoy.

The are responsible for one of the greatest albums of my era.

Iron Maiden! You are joking right ?

I used to work at the Hacienda! The Roses were <deleted> then and they're <deleted> now!! Limp wristed nonsense!

Up the Irons!!!

Whoopee I used to go to the Hacienda , but really Iron Maiden! How can you go public on that one ?

Although I must admit there were some shit bands doin' the rounds.Northside/ACR -were you working when they played?

I worked at the Hac from 88 to 93 as well as at Jillys! Saw the lot of them! Used to do gig nights at the International and the Apollo as well. Never saw a band to touch the Irons IMHO both on stage or off although Tull ran them close with the £200 gift and the spread at the Britannia.......

Jillys! I guess that was more your scene Prof Fart, The International now we are talkin'.I heard JT put on a great gig.A mate of mine saw them at The Appolo prob '89.

Prof Fart I suspect there may be a few members wonderin' what the ###### the hacienda and Jillys were! I guess you had to be there.Prof Fart a mancunian then?

for my own part I think the following are my 3 best in no particular order.....

1. Soundtrack from "The song remains the same" - Led Zepplin

2. Joshua Tree - U2

3. Welcome to my nightmare - Alice Cooper

However, I am a big Zep fan. Never saw Zepplin live but went to see Plant and Page twice when they came to Australia.

I've seen Iron Maiden live and I must agree they were very good.

Other bands I've seen are Deep Purple, Queen, Paul McCartney, Van Halen, ELO, Fleetwood Mac and obviously a few Aussie bands I've seen in a couple of the bigger pubs

1. Led Zeppelin

2. Presence

3. Physical Graffiti

I went to a gig by The Church a few months back - are they from Oz.

Still not convinced about Iron Maiden.

1. Pat and Micks Christmas special 89

2. Barry Manilow live in Vegas

3. Aqua - aqua's greatest hits vol 5

The Church are from OZ but I didn't know they were still kicking. They were a band from the 80's.

20,000 people at Festival Hall for 3 nights in arow to see Iron Maiden can't all be wrong. Sorry you never saw them. Maybe you might have a different opinion if you did.

I saw Twisted Sister as well (free tickets). Worst band musically I've seen but they sure knew how to get the crowd pumping.

1. The Cruci######s (can I say that here?) with the album of the same name, but not the album, the tape that came out first back in 1983.

2. Godflesh-Godflesh

3. White Strips- Elephant

And to ProfessorFart, one of the best shows that I've ever seen was Pantera at San Jose State who were fantastic and also seemed like some of the nicest guys around, they really loved their fans. It was very sad to hear what happened to Mr. Dimebag.

I am a Manc PIEBOY as you must be!!

The Tull gig was at the Apollo in 88 (?) and although not a fan I've never seen a better show bar maybe Marillion in 84.

God I feel old...........

Nothing wrong with being a bit older!!

I have seen 1: Queen .... fantastic band

2: The Communards ... brilliant

3: Gladys Knight and the Pips .. gooooooood

Lots of others but the above were worth it!
