Visa Run Rule, Will I Be Affected?

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

This will just be a short inquiry....but I need your expert point of views.

To start with, I am working legally in Bangkok, with a work permit, visa and multiple entry expiring by September 10, 2009. I am planning of going to Laos by train on the last week of February, through Nong Khai land border, because I want to travel to both Vientiane and Luang Prabang. The tour will just be week-long, so I will be going back to Thailand by train using the same land border on the first week of March.

My question is:

1. While GOING IN from Laos, will the immigration in the Thai border side going to stamp 15 days in my passport?

OR

2. Will I still have the usual September 10, 2009 mark?

Please let me know which between 1 or 2 is correct..

Thanks a lot guys.

as long as you have a multi entry stamp ( re-entry ) from Immergration, you will be ok, as they just stamp you on your expire date on passport.

Correct, you will be good till 10 Sept.

Yes. As long as you have an actual Visa and not an extension.

You'll get your usual 90 days.

No change in visa validity.
