¡Hi!

I arrive to Chiang Mai twoo weeks ago , I am 40 Years Old and I have a Non "O" Multientry Visa from Hull. I am both Spanish and Swiss but my Non "O" Visa is on my Swiss Passport.

Probably some of you remember me as I was able, thanks to your advise, get a Non "O " from Hull living in Spain.

Now I am on the way to set up a Business and after looking here for advise I received completely different information from two different lawyers about the Non "B" VIsa + Work Permit that I need:

So I will need , please, your help on this subject:

So, Once I Register the company what will be the process:

¿Do I have to apply for a Non"B" VIsa?

Do I have to leave the country to KL or Vientiane or Phnom Penh with the papers required or I can do it in Chiang mai Inmigration Office?

¿Would I apply for a "Non "B" Multientry or I only will be granted with a Non B for three months?

¿Eitheir case after Visa ends can I get Extensions of Stay based on my work permit or after 3 months in the second case or 12 months in the first case(15 th if I leave the country the day before expiration) I have to leave again Thailand to a neighbour country to renew my Non B?

Once I get my first Non B I will apply for my work permit as I will be hired by my own company.

I will get at the beginning a 3, 6 or one year work permit?

If I get a 6 month work permit and a Non "B" VIsa valid for hree months ¿Can I extend in Chiang Mai my "B" VIsa?

And once my work permited is close to expiration ¿Can I apply for another work permit for 6 or 12 months?

Once I get my work permit again ¿Can I extended my B VIsa in Chiang mai based on my work permit?

I am sorry if my questions are a little bit confusing, but finally what I would like to know is the whole process( Visa +work permit) starting on Non O multientry Visa when you set up a business here?

Thanks a lot for your kind help :o ,

Cheers,

Your Non O visa can be converted into a Non B visa at the immigration in case you can provide evidence of employment.....which you can do with your company registration.

You apply for a full 1 year Non B visa, but you will probably only be granted 3 months.

After 3 months you'll have to come back to the immigration and show your tax payment receipts, then you'll probably get 6 months more....after the 6 months you will finally get a 1 year visa......at least that is my experience!

Once you have your Non B, you don't need to leave the country ever....just renew your visa and your WP.

Of course you will only get a 1 year Non B if you qualify.

You have to earn a salary of minimum 40,000 THB/month and the company must employ minimum 4 Thai staff.

Your work permit will normally only run as long as your current visa, but I have experienced that if "your boss" signs an employment contract with you for 1 year, then you get a 1 year work permit!! :o

Hope this helps?

First you are going to have to get your company set up. And meet all the requirements to get the work permit. Meaning 4 Thai employees the required registered capital and etc. You are going to need a lawyer to do all this. You can do it with the visa you have now.

Some labour offices may not issue the work permit with the visa you have now. If thats the case then you would have to leave the country and get a single entry B visa showing the work permit application receipt (WP3). And then once you have a work permit valid for one year you could get a multiple entry B visa in KL.

Under the new rules you probably won't be able to get a one year extension until your company has been in business for 2 years.

You can not apply for an extension of stay and also not conver your visa tot a non-B. To be able to apply for an extension of stay based on employment you would need to show tax documents from the company for the last 2 years. With a new company you can't. So you have to stay on yur non-O, which is all you need yo get a WP.

After the multiple non-O is used up you have to apply for a multiple non-B and when that is finished you can apply for an extension of stay at immigraiton.
