Jareddiving
CELEBRITIES’ FERRARI CATCHES FIRE ON VALENTINE’S DAY DRIVE IN PATTAYA
On Valentines’s Day the son of a politician and a female movie star were driving a Ferrari along Sukhumvit Road towards Sattahip when the car unexpectedly caught fire and was completely destroyed. At 2.30 pm on 14 February 2009 a red Ferrari, No. ST-360 Bangkok, caught fire at Km marker159-160, Pattaya-Sattahip, near the Agricultural and Technology college, Na Jomtien, Sattahip. Witnesses said a man and a woman quickly got out of the car and stood in each other arms. The man was identified as Mr. Loung-Pasu Lipatapullop, a son of Mr. Suwat , a well-known politician from Nakornratchsrima and Lieutenant General [Mrs.] Poolpirom. The woman was Miss Apisda [ Ice] Kruekongka, a movie star who is rumoured to be his new “friend” and allegedly the cause of a problem between him and his girlfriend. As the identity of the couple became known more and more onlookers gathered at the scene. Reporters arrived at the same time as the fire service, by which time 17 Million baht car was completely burnt out. Pasu was observed calling his father and reporting that the car his father had provided for him to drive to Pattaya to celebrate Valentine’s Day was completely destroyed. Pasu's friends arrived in a Mercedes and helped salvage some personal items from the car including an expensive watch, worth more than 100,000 baht. The damaged car was transported to Na Jomtien Police station while Pasu and his friends were rushed away in the Mercedes. One witness, Mr. Detch Seelom [48], said he was riding his motorbike, following the Ferrari from Pattaya. He saw the car suddenly slow down and park on the left of the road after which he observed a fire emanating from the engine at the rear of the car. Mr. Pasu, the driver, got out of the car and grabbed a bottle of water and poured it on the engine, which then exploded with a loud bang. Other witnesses said they saw the car was headed from Sattahip to Pattaya and then did a U-turn back to Sattahip. They presumed the couple might be heading for Nongnooch Village. However, news from other sources reported that the car was being taken for a test drive. Mr. Suwat wanted to buy it for his son and he drove it to Pattaya to put it through its paces. Mr. Suwat said he was lucky his son is safe. He also added that Valentine's Day is certainly not a good day for his family, at least for motoring, because his own car got a flat tyre on the very same day. Tell me there's not some sort of genetic disorder in this "moron" family. Here's Dad, Suwat, when he stole an Olympic medal: "But Suwat denied the reports, telling reporters Tuesday that he only borrowed the medal from Udomporn for a day in order to make a genuine gold replica of it as a special gift for her, and would return the medal back to her by a Thai Airways flight."Make a replica for her when she held the real thing? Maybe the owner of the ferrari also wasn't aware of the testdrive. What goes around comes around.

Rimmer
Looks like the same Fire Engine that came to put out the grass fire at the side of my house last year, that was red as well. Just in case anyone wanted to know
tropo
Looks like the same Fire Engine that came to put out the grass fire at the side of my house last year, that was red as well. Just in case anyone wanted to know Strange how it wasn't discussed in the news how a Ferari could instantaniously catch on fire. This would be far more interesting than hearing about all the rich family bs. Surely Ferari would be interested in knowing a lot more about the incident as it could make selling their expensive cars very difficult.

The rich have many problems, poor guys, a burned Ferrari and a flat tire, both on the same day. Terrible!!

Depends if it was a real Ferrari mill and not a Subaru transplant that caught fire according to rumours. Edited March 9, 2009 by NanLaew
