Hi

I need some desperate help on this.

I have just installed the move dish system from PSI.This came to around 25k Baht. This included decoders for 2 TVs,wiring etc.

I had installed this system as i wanted to watch English Indian Channels (news, entertainment) etc.To my surprise,it had all the free channels which aren t very popular.

My engineer mentioned that Dreambox could be the solution for this. This would be another 11k Baht and 450 Baht per month.

Here are my questions

-How many channels does the dreambox have?I know it depends on the guy splitting the card, but i would like to know an estimate?I would be interested in other English channels as well.

-Hows the reception and does it give lot of problems?

-Is it possible to work with the Dreambox with my existing setup?Atleast the dish part or do i need to get the extra dish this guy has been asking me to get?

-Can i totally scrap the system he has just installed and get the dreambox instead?I might be able to save some money.

Any help would be appreciated..I am in a real fix. :o

If you are looking for things like the Indian DishTV, Tatasky, BigTV etc this is not going to happen even with a Dreambox unless you are in Changmai or further west as the signals are simply not strong enough even with a 3.2m dish and very fine weather. The other solution is buy a C band receiver from Star India and use this on their Asiasat 3s service.

BTW: Tatasky has been free to view for the last month on their 11090mhz transponder, did your engineer show you this? If you can not see it ask him why? Then make up your mind on what path to take.
