Considering the dirth of threads on the subject of sin-sot , I would hazard a guess that the advantages to the payee are few and far between , as is life in general from there forward as long as ye are permitted to survive , and have an ATM to call your own .

The word SUCKER comes to mind!!!! Just my opinion!

When, soon after the wedding he reminds his new inlaws of the importance in Thai culture of helping family out and then asks for (and of course receives without so much as a 'but'...) a family loan at least equal to the amount of Sin Sod he has paid, at zero interest and with a 'flexible' repayments schedule.
