March 12, 200917 yr I report to immigration tomorrow as per the 90 day rule. I will then leave Thailand for 3 calender months next weekend. That means i will probably miss my next report date. If i'm out of the country do i need to report? Is it okay to leave for 3 months or more on a retirement visa without loosing it? Do i need to tell immigration? Can anyone help? Cheers
March 12, 200917 yr Your 90 day address reporting date resets when you return to Thailand. No need to report an address while outside the country. Unless you have a valid multi entry Non-Immigrant "O-A" retirement visa, you need to get a Re-Entry Permit from immigration to keep your extension of stay alive. No requirement to tell immigration anything, just be back before permission to stay date expires.
March 12, 200917 yr Agreed with above but also to directly answer your question Is it okay to leave for 3 months or more on a retirement visa without loosing it? YES, it is OK.

Cheers You wont be missing the 90 day repot date. When you return to Thailand that will start a new 90 day period. You wont lose the retirement visa. Just make sure to get a re-entry stamp before you depart then when you return to thailand your current retirment visa will be valid. Other then getting the re-entry stamp you do not need to report your departure to Immigration.
March 12, 200917 yr As said, get the Re Entry Permit from Immigration. 1,000 Baht for a single. 3,800 for a multi.
March 12, 200917 yr It is worth repeating. You must return to Thailand before your current extension to stay date or indeed you WILL lose your ability to get another retirement extension without starting all over again. And also of course you do need a reentry permit. Cheers. Edited March 12, 200917 yr by Jingthing
