Thai Spouse To Germany, Help Needed

Featured Replies

Hello all,

since I'm already going through the net for the past days and still doesn't have a final clue, I'd like to get some advice from you.

Basically I want to bring my pregnant girl friend to Germany and stay there for about 3 to 4 month. Since obtaining a tourist Visa at the German embassy is almost impossible (no valid reason to return to Thailand, since no Job and no childs), I'm looking for other possibilities as followed:

1. Marry here in Thailand and then travel to Germany? What would be the requirements? Do I need to register myself back to Germany?

2. Register in Germany, bring her there in order to marry?

3. Try it over another Schengen country? Which one would be easy?

Some basic facts to the situation:

1. I'm currently unemployed and will start a new job at July. The work contract will be in Singapore but I need to go to Germany for training, that's why I want to bring her there.

2. Currently I'm neither registered in Germany or Thailand

3. My girlfriend is pregnant

4. Is it advisable to use a Visaservice? If yes, does anybody know one?

5. My girlfriend has already passed the German A1 test at Goethe!

Does anybody have a clue, what would be the best for us to do? We'd like to go there by May or June, so your fast help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance.

hi,

firstly what's your nationality? If German sure visas can be hard, but if you're from another EU country it'll be much easier thanks to the EU's 'free movement of labour'/schengen agreement :o

Can't realy answer your question, but since your girlfriend is pregnant I advice you that if you are not married when the child will be born you will have to take certain stept to ensure you will be the legal father.

Under Thai law, you would have to register the birth of the child yourself at the amphur. Don't let anyone alse, including your girlfriend or hospital do that. Your child will then be yours also and probably have your nationality.
