Police Fighting A Losing Battle.

When times are tough, the easiest thing is to blame foreigners and immigrants. I think that is the overall point of this article.

Historically Scott this is a well worn strategy that nations use to deflect attention from the real issues afflicting their country. The fact is that everybody knows (or should know) that all froeigners, especially the obvious non-asian ones, are easy targets and will receive a nod of approval from the general indigenous populus.

I am getting quite tired of Henryalleman's post:

- completely off topic --> I would suggest Henry to open a thread to discuss Belgian topics unrelated to Thailand instead of littering this thread with unrelated comments

- he keeps putting Belgium and Belgians in a bad spotlight, with his ongoing racist and muslim hate talk

- he keeps making false statements

Because obtaining the French, British, Dutch or Belgian nationality is as easy as buying a newspaper.

That was an example of a false (and off topic) statement. As a matter of fact, even when a foreigner marries a Belgian it takes three years to be eligible to apply for Belgian nationality AFTER having followed extensive language and culture courses imposed by the government and passing likewise exams. Either Henry has great difficulty in obtaining newspapers or else he does not realise his statement is simply untrue

40% of the prison population in Belgium are foreigners

Total prison population in belgium 9083

Moroccans 1071 = 11.79 %

Algerians 323

Turks 250

Total 1644 or 18% of the inmates are coming from those 3 countries(Muslim)

This don't include the ones who obtain the Belgian nationality by naturalisation.

Here henry singles out crime in Belgium committed by Muslims. What the use is of this unrelated statement -besides proving his racist background- is unclear.

In other posts Henry claims refugees in Belgium (off topic once more) get passports handed out by the authorities, which could be not further from the truth. First of all, more than 90% of refugees aplying for refugee status are declined. Secondly those who get this status get only temporary permits of stay. Only after residing more than 5 years + going through all the language/culture courses and successfully passing exams they can apply for Belgian nationality.

Ironically Henry is an immigrant himself -a foreigner in another country- while bashing immigrants to his country of birth...

And even worse is that he now also exports his local-racism-in-Belgium mindset and imposes it on us in the Thaivisa forum, using any occasion to bring it up

Its the same passport holders for exactly the same crime as we see in Europe. Its the African, Roumanian and Russian gangs we know oh so well.

And do notice I use the word Passport holder and not nationals. Because we know very well in Europe that when somebody have an UK or French passport its not meaning that it is his country of birth.

In belgium we have gangs who come across the border from Northern France to commit robberies and drug trafficking.

And yes they have an French passport but their place of birth is Algeria or Morocco. I would not be surprise that most of the bandits holding an UK passport their birth country is Nigeria or some other ex British colony.

Because obtaining the French, British, Dutch or belgian nationality is as easy as buying a newspaper.

Wow henryalleman!

I noticed from your previous posts that you was an a**hole, but now I realize that you're also a racist. Congrats :o

Absolutely agree with you, Hank!

I really don't mind you hate my guts, but I would like to ask you kindly not to take my writings out of content and stop spreading disinformation.

BTW, a recognized political fugitive can indeed obtain an belgian passport to name only one mistake you made. Lucky you show some sense not to discus the prison population statistics. Further more I would like to emphasize that nowhere in any topic I made some intended racist remarks, only show facts and figures, if you call this racism its OK for me, and they where also completely on topic, because it was only replying to previous comments about the alleged high crime rate of UK and French citizens as some posters wrote.

Have a nice day and drink a Duvel to calm down.

And you'll notice that the US isn't listed...except for our bank notes being counterfeited....wonder if that's because we're such upstanding citizens (contrary to the apparent general consensus!) or if we're under-represented in the expat population?

We're pretty good at controlling our worst thieves, and our best thieves wouldn't bother with Thailand.

A real thief in the US will either get an MBA or PhD in Economics and work for a bank (or THE bank, the Fed).

After all that investment, why would our criminals target Thailand, when they have access to the US Treasury?

Amazing! Considering all the Brit bashing that goes on on this forum we only rank bottom place in one category. The French are league leaders in two categories and mid table in a third and nobody bashes them (well we Brits do but that's a historical thing and done in the best possible taste).

Even the Russkies, with all their mafia stuff, are only a couple of places above the relegation zone and only for fake credit cards.

As with most things in Thailand there is some truth in there somewhere. As has been said, anything that deflects the blame on to others is a worthy enterprise.

The USA isn't even listed. :o:D:D

Maybe the Dollar is so strong that the American bribe is worth the most so they get off the list,,TIT...lol...only a joke plz no ban..PMPL

You did bashed them in rugby last night ! ... and deservely so ...

yes it is alphabetically listed. Anyway, you should take a close look at what kind of french they are... If it's the same people who create troubles in France, then you should rather look in the direction of Africa...

Latest news from the Farang Crime Co-ordination Division

Pol. Lt. Col Phantom Wrongwaysaporn has released the following statistics for Crimes Against Thais by different organizations:

Murdering Thai People in Crackdown on Drugs

Police Force by authority of Government

Killing of Thai Minorities

Police force

Army

Navy

Exploitation of Women and Refugees for Prostitution and Human Trafficking

Police Force

Army

Influencial People

Stealing from State Coffers

Insert name of politician here

Violation of Intellectual Property Rights

Almost everybody

Cutting off arms of Karaoke Singers

Drunk Police officer(s) and their friends

Shooting of unarmed foreigners in "self defence"

Police

Arresting and imprisoning innocent Thais to extort money

Police

Pol Lt-Col Phantom's team has been assigned to track these national criminals. Police know the identities of these criminals but have been paid too much to do nothing or are scared of being killed if they actually arrest or even question suspects (in some rare instances the police are too lazy to actually do anything Lt. Phantom admitted).

Blaming a lack of integrity, enthusiasm and not enough money in it for them, Pol Lt-Col Phantom said there was little hope to catch criminals unless somebody offers them a better deal.

Thai police don't care how serious the national crime problem is and haven't a clue how to use sophisticated technology to assist them.

Pol Lt-Col Phantom also warned tourists at all hotels about house keepers, managers, maintenance staff who use their pass keys to enter into hotel rooms and open the "in-room 'un'safes" with special pass keys and steal money and valuables. He warns tourists that absolutely nothing will be done by the police as they are being paid off by the hotel owners to do nothing.

Many police are hoping for the introduction of a law to ensure foreigners cannot complain about useless police action in Thailand. His team have at least paved the way for further investigation by identifying nine types of national crime that so far have gone unexploited by Thai Police; he hopes that they do better in the future.

Brilliant. :o

If it was'nt full of so many truths it might have been funny! :D

Spoilsport :D

The Brits still only feature in one listing but then "transnational crimes" don't include drunk and disorderly.

Just for the record, you may be a bigot, but I don't get the feeling you're a racist.

And also for the record, everyone is, at least slightly, a bigot. But for people to jump on you because they feel you're a 'racists' just demonstrates their ignorance. From your postings it's clear that you have no love lost for Muslims, and I would appreciate someone proving that a religion is equitable to a race. I.E., it's one thing to say I hate the teachings of a religion that has followers from many racially diverse areas of the world and allows those followers to commit all sorts of acts in the name of the religion simply because they're emulating the founder's example and it's another thing to say I hate all Africans simply because they're not white.

When the tourist industry goes bad blame the foreigner. When a foreigner is killed, blame the foreigner. Do whatever it takes to shift anything that could place the blame at a local's feet away.....

Don't ya know yet.... in Thailand the customer is ALL-WAYS wrong, geeze! :o

However, please be so kind to refrain from telling the world that obtaining a passport from Belgium, France and The Netherlands is a doddle.

I have no idea about France, nor do I want to know.

I do know that because of the French speaking part of Belgium, obtaining a Belgium passport is just a case of going to Carrefour, spend € 50, and get a bonus in the form of a Belgium passport.

Obtaining a Dutch passport was easy, a few years ago.

Now, it is a hellish kind of torture, and expensive.

Even a permission to stay in the country is a case of learning Dutch, learning about the country, doing an examination in the Embassy, and then after five years in the country, you may get a passport, for a price!

Of course you can always become a fugitive.

But then, your best chances are in Belgium, and maybe France.

Or could it be that the word has gone around that the BIB are either bribeable or inept so the Land of Smiles is a rather handy crime magnet in the sunshine?

Thailand should tighten it's visa policies. If you have a criminal record you would find it extreemly hard to get into most western countries especially Australia. Maybe it is good for tourism to let all the scum bags of the world into Thailand. Look at places like Pattaya all the sexual deviates and peds gather there. No place for decent families to visit.

I have an idea that a huge lot of expats in Pattaya don't like to be called sexual deviates or pedophiles by you.

There are a lot of people that can be considered "normal" living in Pattaya.

Whatever being normal might be.

And, please be so kind to explain to me what decent families are?

If you are a farang, married to a Thai woman, most of your "landsmen" will think of you as a sex crazed monster.

Same same, ok?

When I wrote this sentence I presumed that people would had enough intelligence to realize that it was a matter of speech covered with some sarcasm.

I clearly overestimated the intellectual capacity of some people.

SPEE: As in the states where I think roughly 40% of the prison population is illegal aliens. I would very much doubt there are similar numbers in Thailand.

Wildly wrong, sir!

These stats include legal and illegal immigrants:

Over all — combining federal and state prisons — 6.4 percent of the nation's prisoners were noncitizens in 2005. This is down from 6.8 percent in 2000.
