I know opening a bar in Thailand is risky but let's assume I'm willing to take the risk for now. What permits are required besides the bar being registered as a normal business? I've heard from several bar owners that dance permits are required. What's involved and are these expensive? I rarely see real dance floors at Thai bars, instead they are crowded with stools and tables with people dancing around them. Do they do this to get around the requirement for a dance permit?

Thx
