My wife and I have moved to bangkok about a month ago and I had a craving yesterday for potato bake and the wife had one for sheppards pie.

My wife is Thai but she doesnt know where they sell it here, hoping someone can suggest some good places that will sell both of these as I would like some sheppards pie too.

I can make both but it never turns out that well.

I think Molly Malones on Convent Rd do a fine Shepherd Pie

Baked Potato - Just pop it in the oven for 30 minutes or so

Sheppards Pie - Most of the Western Pubs in Bangkok - it is never the same as at home though.

They also sometimes have sheppards pie at Villa. Not as good as a restaurant, but it's convenient. Not sure what a potato bake is.

I will try those places.

Potato bake is potato sliced about 1/2 a cm mixed in a creamy sauce with diced bacon and shreaded cheese.

Then put into the oven with a sprinkle of cheese on top. I could probably make it, but im a lousy cook.

Some of the Aussie members should know what this is.

Possibly know as Dauphinois potatoes.

Try around sukhumvit there are some really good restaurants there.

I make my own shepherds pie when i can get lamb and cottage pie when I can't. Make your own mate, its much nicer, oh and I sometimes make a nice big pan of scouse, my thai gf loves it

I'm not sure if they have sheppard's pie (I assume they would though), but you should check out The Black Swan at the corner of Sukumwit and Asoke (right near the exit of BTS Asoke). They do have the best roast beef and yorkshire pudding I've had here, so I assume the rest of their menu is equally good. (I only order that because I only go there when I have a craving for it)

Tried there once all we got was mashed potatoe the had forgotten to put the minced beef in. !!!!!!
