My God ! 15 weeks with no news at all is shocking really eh? Maybe they should stop having half days on a friday, and work on saturdays to clear the back log. Thats what I have to do, and others who suddenly get extra busy have to do to deal with extra work loads. If someone was paying me 600 pounds and I was this late I'd have no business left !! Am self employed and have done my 09 returns extremely early. expected them to probably fail our SV because only gave them 08 even though it was impossible to do the 09 returns at the time of course. I got married in thailand on 17th may and put application in on 25th May for settlement visa.( put me on list) i had to return to UK because of work commitments. Like many others I check every day on VFS site but always same "sent to embassy 26th May" I emailed VFS a short while ago and actually got reply next day saying they were trying to get web site up to date. Maybe true or maybe just a fob off, but nothing has changed. Even a note 500th in queue or something would be better. I know we have only been waiting nearly 2 months,(nailbiting) but being apart and newly weds is so frustrating for both of us. We used an agency to prepare our application, and they said everything was present off check list. My concern is if is paperwork checked by VFS before submission to embassy or do we have to wait until embassy staff get round to reading it before we find out they want additional information. They did tell my wife at time time it will be at least 3 months (working days)before we hear anything, so recent times of 15 weeks looks like it is becoming norm. Great site full of real useful info. CinnamonRoll Posted July 19, 2009 Share Posted July 19, 2009 People I know on another Thai-site, who submited for non-settlement visas, they've got the visa already, like someone submited on 3/7 granted 15/7, 30/6 granted 6/7, especially in April, they got it and now they're already in the UK, what concerns me is it seems like they're only dealing with non settlement visas and have stopped settlement visas looking at the list, that's not fair :D 12 weeks for me next week Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Chrisspuresbkk1 and also domm... is that right that you are also waiting since middle of march with NO news?? if so whats happening, any answers for you guys?? no news whatsoever from the embassy but our agent did call my mrs last week and told her she will get the visa by 27th july but i have my doubts. I'd like to see did they get my fax or not In the end he spoke to the operator and said he was going to phone over and over until they put him through to someone, they put him through to a women who told him he shouldn't be phoning as he was a British national he said he was calling on behalf of his wife (she kept laughing he said)...they have never replied to his emails or faxes Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Boo Posted July 20, 2009 Share Posted July 20, 2009 When my friend called she kept insisting on speaking with a British Embassy officer BECAUSE she was British & had the right to talk to a British embassy official not an operator or VFS outsource staff. Kate that is the same answer we got over the phone on the 29th June after waiting 15 weeks the same as your son, They told us to contact the VFS the following Thursday the 2nd July for the answer but still nothing. My MP sent a fax and e-mail last Thursday 16th with my letter as an attachment, fat lot of good that did. Wednesday will be 18 weeks for us. I am now wondering if there is a monthly quota of visas handed out, or just a big cock up with the overload of applications. A statement on the home embassy page would be a small amount to ask. uaelaelil Posted July 20, 2009 Share Posted July 20, 2009 Not sure how relevant it is to the thread but my wife recived a phone call on her moblie last friday from a man speaking thai and saying he was from Immigration and that someone would be calling within the next 2 weeks aparently he only asked for her to confirm her name ? Now she not 100% on that nor did she get his name nor a contact number which ill admit we had a argument over the phone about that she needs to write everything down about anything to do with her visa app or possible contact. Now in the back of my mind theres you get 1 chance and thats it, its a worry I have to say But with soo little news comming out atm thought would post even if its a glimmer of hope good or bad that they might be working on apps.
