Does anyone know how long a HSBC Thailand Chq would take to clear in a SCB account?

or would it be easier to cash the Chq at HSBC in Bangkok

I agree with Churchill, but if you want to get same day credit from a branch at SCB in Bangkok, it is best to ask them how to do it. Note, for SCB Bangkok to get same day credit from HSBC Thailand, the check would have to be deposited before this branch's cut off time. Of course, this may not mean that they pass this on to you, but at worst case (unless deposited at SCB Bangkok after their cut off time on a Friday or before a bank holiday), the SCB Bangkok branch should give you next day credit.

well i will try SCB first, if they say it will take a long time, i will just go to HSBC and cash it

I can guarantee you this. If SCB Bangkok submits the item prior to the BOT's cut off time, SCB Bangkok will get same day credit from HSBC Thailand.
