Looking to buy a kaen in Bangkok. One of decent quality, better than those I see at Big C . . . anyone know where to find one? Also, learn to play kaen books (written in Thai is fine)?

Pobably in Khon Kaen (Thai ขอนแก่น) is the second-largest of the north-eastern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. :o

Do you know THE OLD SIAM ? i am pretty sure was about 2 shops selling thai music instruments !

or ask someone to ring a music school to get direction.

google suksapan! its on ratchademnoen klang. a few hundret meters beforeu turn into khaosan road. its a shop for school utilities, also instruments on the first floor.

googling the instrument , leads to wikipedia page , leads to info about Johnny Olsen , leads to his myspace page , where you could ask him(an award winning virtuoso) where the finest kaen can be bought :o
