Be Carefull, Don"t Book Hotels In Vietnam By Internet

Featured Replies

For all members that plan travel to Vietnam. Be carefull, DON'T book your hotel by Internet. There is this site: www.hotels-in-vietnam.com, It is FAKE! Don't book in this site! They don't have address or office. They are closed. I had booked a hotel in Hanoi, the hotel name was: HANOI VIEW HOTEL in Old quarter area in Hanoi. The Hotel doesn't excists! It's closed! Luckily I had not confirm my reservation, I had not gave my credit card number, so I had no problem. I found hotel very easy. Many people that use credit card be stolen from this site. It's very easy find hotel in Vietnam, from 20 - 30 $ can find very good hotel. So DON"T book hotels by internet.

Strange post:

I know a fair number of people that have used the site without problems.

I am pretty sure the Hanoi View Hotel is still open.

What is wrong with giving credit card details? How else do you want to guarantee a booking?

You are not a competitor, are you?

Doing a quick google I found only one entry for Hanoi View Hotel which is at the website given by the OP.

There are however multiple hits for Hanoi Lake View Hotel.

Maybe there is something 'naughty' going on.

Always booked online for everywhere.

Never had a problem in umpteen years.

Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Phillipines, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and of course, LoS.

But, thanks for the warning, will take care.

the post should be don't book online via unknown internet travel sites... Use a larger respected site...

Same is true for anything you buy online, using small unknown sites can lead to you being scammed, thats not to say all unknown online sites are bad...

But what idiot books a hotel he has not researched through at least a couple of alternative channels, usually including the hotel's own website ?

And what fool gives out CC numbers to sites without Https: and to people who they have no experience with and whom they do not research.

Some people should be locked up to protect both us and them from themselves.

The co. refered to are based in the Hoa Linh Hotel as indeed it states on the co's website.

The Hanoi View Hotel in the old quarter is new having only opened on March 10. 2009 & looks lovely.

When clicking the "Book now" button, (of any hotel) you are taken to a secure (https) section of the website (with padlock icon).

Reading some of the mixed reviews (at Trip Advisor) of people who have stayed at the Hoa Linh Hotel, it seems bookings made through the said website may not be 100% reliable, but then this is Vietnam, not Europe!

(Reply not specifically aimed at you Torrenova, just using your quote for relevance) :o

Are you competitor?

the Hotels-in-Vietnam.com Office located here hotels-in-vietnam.com/hotels/contactus.html

and the Hanoi View Hotel is the new one with the address hotels-in-vietnam.com/hotels/hanoi/hanoiview_hotel.html

You can check by making a telephone or find many good reviews about Hotels-in-Vietnam.com in Lonely Planet Forum and Tripadvisor.

what do you want? Could you please give your name, the day you have booked so I can check that?

Thanks

I’ve booked hotels and tours online many times before, specialy with hotels-in-vietnam.com and never catch the problem.

I came to their office and met the staffs, they are so friendly. You can easy find their info below the site and they are also the member of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), you can check it here: http: //www.pata.org/members/view.php?id=1884&page=0&cat=19&subcat=0&subsubcat=0

I don’t understand but if the site is fake, so you mean Pata site is fake too?

Check carefully when you post an information topic!

Their whois info checks out with their contact info. It also shows them as being around for over six years. I also don't see any complaints against them.

As for a slight difference in the names of the hotels, that doesn't necessarily mean something's amiss, it's often just a minor variance in the translation.
