The Conficker Computer Worm starts on April 1. 2009 as most of the reader of this forum and many more humans know, but I'm not sure everybody know that the remove tool is freely available already.

The university of Bonn (Germany) has already released a Scanner today and others like Tenable (Nessus), McAfee/Foundstone, nmap, ncircle, and Qualys.

The nmap scanner is freely available for the different OS's, HERE.

Note: The Conficker Worm C runs already and the April 01. is just a launch date of one variant.

To get more infos about the Conficker Worm go to THIS WEBSITE.

I would suggest that you guys download one of available scanner and scan the computers you're using.

Good luck.

If I change my computer clock to bypass April 1st, say set it to April 2nd and then reset the correct date afterwords will that stop the Conficker Worm from activating?

Daffy, that Worm is running already in some variants.

Just download one of the scanner (I posted some links) and also read abiot more about the nature of that worm.

Cheers.

I have lots of protection and do regular scans and my system shows up clean. :D

Was just wondering about the date change, but after thinking about it, that would be just too easy :o

Well I read about this worm thing and even tried Reimar's download but the bumph was all in total geekish and didn't mean a <deleted>' thing to this dumb ole mekkie engineer.

End result : I did nothing and it's now 17:30 April 1st and everything is still working just fine. Maybe it was an April fool gag as some predicted. Maybe it wasn't and I was lucky.

Who knows?

Quicky Conficker infection test WATCHDOG

Thats a great link, I could access the three sites so looks like my system is OK :o

I can see some people having worries when getting the "Page cannot be displayed" not knowing if it's "THE WORM" or their provider throwing another wobbly. :D
