Hi All,

Wondering if anyone has advice or where I can find it. Maybe Ex-pat that has done similar. I am currently purchasing a 43ft Live aboard Kit Catamaran. The hull etc from Canada and the Engines, electronics via Australia, some components potentially Thailand. My wife is Thai just recently married, where are the warnings? I am concidering building it here, I may require to hire the building facilities and an experienced work team to help build it. Building takes approx 1800hrs total. Also does anyone know the Tax Situation as it is due for Australia in the end. I will be using second hand components as well as new in the build. Also type of costs to ship to Australia. :o

Any good advice much appreciated. Except use spell checker!

Hi blackdove & :o

Sorry I can give no technical advice but suggest you search in the car or motorbike forums and that will give you an idea about vehicle/parts import problems.

Customs problems usually stop most people from getting stuff into Thailand and I hope you have better luck with your nautical adventure.

I built an 80ft steel motor cat and could go on forever with advice about building a boat in Thailand. What part of Thailand do you plan to do this

Where are you located?

If the Gulf of Thailand (Koh Phangan) is convenient for you,

my friend Paul is building, refurbishing and repairing boats for several years already.

Fell free to PM for more details.
