Sony Walkman Mp3 Player

Featured Replies

I recently bought a Sony Walkman MP3 player. When I plugged in into my XP PC I found that it would not charge and that I could not find it using the file manager. I checked and found that I have USB 2.0 enhanced installed and WMP ver. 11. I do know that it was getting power because it did illuminate. Other peripherals do work with these ports. The Windows plug and play window did open to find software, but could not do so. I then went to work and plugged it into a PC there and it works fine, charges up and the walkman folder shows in the file manager so that I can drag and drop MP3 files. In the past I have found that the USB ports on the front of my computer sometimes operate differently than the ones in the back in terms of what they support. Tonight I will plug the player in the back and see what happens.

Questions:

1. Anybody know where the problem might lie and what to do?

2. If it does turn out that it works via a rear USB, how can I configure the front ports so that they will support it?

Thanks in advance for any help!
