Thai Ecommerce Business - What Are The Rules?

Featured Replies

Times are bad but nevertheless, I plan to start an own business here. I gathered information how to incorporate a Thai Ltd. company so I am clear about that. However, somebody told me once that if I sell solely trough my e-shop on my website, I do not need a Thai Ldt. company. I do not need a work permit. Is this correct? Does somebody has any info's on that?

Thanks for your help!

Rule # 1 : If it's worth doing in Thailand and you want to make brick loads of cash... you need to incorporate it in

Costa Rica or the BVI.

I sell digital goods/services over the net. I'm not technically working here, because the site sells itself. Not liable for taxes, because I'm just a tourist. :o

?? Tax Haven ??

What is it that you are looking to do? Someone who plays poker, trades stocks, or owns ThaiVisa, likely does not need a permit. Someone who sells fisherman pants from MBK via the Thai Post Office likely does. I am not saying that is necessarily the law, but from a common sense standpoint it would make sense (to me atleast).

Also, what is your nationality? If you are American, it might make sense for you to register the business in Thailand because you might be able to claim the foriegn earned income credit for the first 80k of your earnings.
