Just Arrived On My Non Imm O From Hull

Featured Replies

I was told that my visa was for a year and does have multiple written on it, but today at Phuket the guy at desk only gave me stamp for 3 months?? Do I have to do a border run after three months for another 3 and so on till the year is up??? Well confused, did ask at the airport but some jaffa wasnt making any sense.

Yes, you have to do a border run every 90 days.

If you do one a day or two before the 'must enter before' date on your visa you'll get a final 90 days meaning your '1 year' visa is good for nearly 15 months in the Kingdom :o

If you are entitled to an extension of stay (married to a Thai, Thai kids, job, etc) you can apply within the last 30 days of any permit to stay :D

Alright James

Crossy is right, every 90 days you will have to do a border run.

I have not long posted a few quetions myself regarding the non-imm O.

Now I am an expert. :o Enjoy your stay.

Enjoy the border runs. As Crossy said, you can stretch it out to 15 months.

If you live in Phuket, the closest place for a border run is up to Ranong and over to Burma. There are plenty of companies that arrange everything for you (transport, paperwork, fees etc).

A word of warning: DO NOT overstay more than the 90 days allowed. You will be fined B500 per day you are over. So, on your 90th day (6th July??), make sure you get out of Thailand on that day. A border run can be a straight turn around and come back in, or you can get away for a few days down to Malaysia or Singapore. When you re-enter Thailand, you will get another 90- days.

I live in Chiang Mai so I think it will be over to Burma up that way, are they ok with giving the extension up there??

There is not an extension - you return for a new 90 day visa entry. You can do anywhere there is a normal border crossing.
