How would you explain that time to time, all of a sudden the internet cannot be accessed unless you "hide" behind an anonymous proxy? it's really weird and happens more and more frequently, i taught it was just a temporary technical problem, but then, why i can get access using a different system? is it because of the "great firewall" someone was talking about some time ago or what? also shouldn't read as "The page cannot BE found/Error 404" ? .......very suspicious

The page cannot found/Error 404

According to the "error" in the page message you SHOULD contact your provider.

Its a home made message. So you will get an answer from him. If that message appears within your

companies network, then grab your Admin and ask him...

You post such a message on a forum known to the goverment, that is monitored and read constantly by the secret police, normal police, really really secret police, army, navy, airforce, traffic wardens, tax inspectors, army reserve specialist, that weird bloke down the street that keeps watching you and the cleaning lady that you employ ?

I'm keeping my tin foil hat on...

IIRC this error has been noted before and reported on Thaivisa, but when I put your error message into the forum search engine I get:-

Not Found

The requested URL /forum/search.html&CODE=show&searchid=d7a66421226e2159ab9ee862050771f3&search_in=posts&result_type=topics&highlite=+The+page+cannot+found/Error+404 was not found on this server.

Definite conspiracy :o

EDIT Previous thread http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Ping-Ok-Down...it-t186532.html (it's the '/' in the search that confuses the engine)

I can tell you that it is an error message from TRUE. Try browsing www.mail2world.com from any TRUE internet packages, you will get the same error after waiting like 2 or 3 mins.

Its an ISP message which they use in breach of internet standards to cover anything from a genuine 404 error to a site they have blacklisted, to a network error.

I've been told that ISPs are starting to use DNS poisoning to censor sites with 'undesirable' content. Apparently the old 'this site is banned' messages were too obvious, so now they throw you a random error page to make you think the site is down etc.
