Bank Account For Marriage Visa Money

Featured Replies

I am planning to apply for a Non Imm 'O' - 'Marriage'.

Re the money aspect, I am opting for the 400,000 in the bank. I have a fair amount in it and so no worries about exchange rate movements. Does anyone know if I can use the account to qualify?

You can use the account as long as the acount is in a bank in Thailand an in your name only. It has to be there at least 2 months.

It's with the Bangkok Bank and the money's been there since early January and not married yet, so should be OK when I do submit the application.

Many thanks.

Some officers want to see the money in the bank 3 months before application. And, as Mario said, it cannot be a joint a/c.

You will also need a letter from your bank (dated either the day of application or the day before) stating the amount in your a/c. This balance in the letter must match the balance in your bank book to the penny!!
