Border Run At Na Tan District

Featured Replies

I saw that there is an immigration checkpoint for entering in Na Tan district.

"Na Tan District (under responsibilty of Immigration Office of Khemarat District)" from the "Immigration checkpoints for entering Thailand (visa runs)" page http://www.thaivisa.com/329.0.html

1. Is there a border to go in & out of Thailand?

2. Can I make a border run to get more 90 days for my multi Non-O?

4. Is visa upon arrival to Laos availabe over there?

3. It says that its under responsibilty of Immigration Office of Khemarat District. Does that means that I get the stamp at the border or at immigration office at Khemarat?

4. Will it be opened on the 16th? (I'm permited to stay untill the 17th)

Don't believe you can cross over to Laos at Khmmerath or Na Dan, probably have to go down to Chong Mek.

There are seven border crossings open to all between Thailand and Laos. From north to south:

Huay Xai/Chiang Khong: Usual route to/from Luang Prabang, easy bus connections to Chiang Rai and points beyond on the Thai side.

Nam Hueng/Tha Li: Easily reached via Loei on the Thai side, but 378 km of dirt road away from Luang Prabang. No visa on arrival.

Vientiane/Nong Khai: The first Friendship Bridge and the busiest of crossing of them all. Direct trains from Bangkok now available.

Paksan/Bueng Kan: No visa on arrival.

Tha Khaek/Nakhon Phanom: Third bridge under construction.

Savannakhet/Mukdahan: The Second Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge.

Vang Tao/Chong Mek: On the route from Pakse to Ubon Ratchathani
