Immigration Offices Will Open Thursday, Friday

Featured Replies

ALL Immigration offices around Thailand will open on Thursday and Friday this week to prevent the extra long Songkran holiday break from throwing the visa system into confusion.

The Superintendent of Phuket Immigration, Police Colonel Chanatpol Yongbunjerd, said today that the 10-day closure of government offices would not apply to Immigration offices.

People whose visas are due to be extended late this week will need to get their passports stamped as planned, either on border runs or at Immigration centres.

Will Sunbelt be open? I need some doc's from them before I'm able to extend....

Bangkok Immigration Website:

Bangkok Immigration Division opens on 16-17 April 2009

Bangkok Immigration Division at Soi Suanplu and Rasa Tower opens on 16-17 April 2009 from 08.30-16.30.

Another lesson in perspectives. Songkran is as big as Thanksgiving in the US, Christmas in the UK or the Melbourne Cup downunder. And still some residents here get caught short renewing really important residence paperwork. There is absolutely NO penalty for renewing EARLIER if your due date falls around Songkran or indeed any other auspicious date in the Kingdom.

Now, go stand in the corner, facing the wall.

Somebody forgot to tell them in Chiang Mai - they are shut. :o

Apparently they are now open just a little tardy after the Songkran celebrations.

Just came back from Laemngob immigration office (service Chanthaburi, Koh Chang, Trat and surrounding areas) and they are closed as well. Stupidly I didn't call first so just wasted 3 hours round trip there :o
