Thaksin Sightings

The last couple of days I have heard that he

a: Is in Chiang Rai

b: Recently was seen in a spa or gym or something in Ko Chang

c: Was flying into Lao PDR and going by land to Udon Thani to set up HQ there

Of these three I find a) to be the most plausible one

But my conspiracy-driven brain tells me it's Thaksins newest tactics to spread rumours so that the government won't bother if he actually is here :o

Any of you heard anything about it? Narathiwat? Pattaya? Soi Cowboy?

:-)

AJE just broadcast a new interview with Thaksin. He says he did not incite the red shirts to use violence and that he does not want to be PM. "It is tragic for the people of Thailand, tragic, but every day I told them not to use violence." He said if the people want him to return and the courts were neutral, he would return to Thailand. This interview was conducted after the new arrest warrant was issued.

AJE said he is on the 41st floor of a condo in Dubai. Interpol - go get him.

Summary of prior interviews

April 13

Former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra has called for the overthrow of the government after authorities imposed a state of emergency in Bangkok amid widespread protests. His call came after armed soldiers were deployed across the Thai capital on Sunday, a day after "Red Shirt" movement anti-government protests forced the cancellation of a summit of Asian leaders in the beach resort of Pattaya.

He said: "The troops who have already come out can come and join the Red Shirts to help us to get democracy for the people. This is a golden minute. We will make history and there will be no more coups in Thailand. We have to help achieve democracy for all of us."

April 14

Thaksin has addressed the crowd of protesters via video nearly every evening since the latest round of protests began on March 26, but denied in an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera that he encouraged violence. "I'm not instigating it I keep telling them we should do it peacefully, each day I tell them peaceful, peaceful peaceful," he said.

Thaksin was ousted as prime minister during a bloodless coup in 2006 and was convicted in absentia of violating a conflict of interest law. He is also accused of inciting people to break the law and cause unrest, a charge punishable by seven years in prison. Thaksin said he would only return to Thailand to face trial if a "neutral body' had carried out the investigation and he could be guaranteed a fair trial.

Despite being in self-imposed exile, Thaksin remains an influential force and has sent almost daily video and audio messages to Red Shirt rallies, supporting their call for the current prime minister to resign and hold fresh elections. However, Thaksin told Al Jazeera on Tuesday that he did not aiming to become prime minister again. "I'm not really wanting to be prime minister but if the country need me if the people need me I will. Because I’m 60 in July I want to spend my life peacefully," he said.

I wonder what he meant when he asked for a revolution from the people.

Probably he's not a Beatles fan or didn't understand the words:

You say you want a revolution

Well you know

We all want to change the world

You tell me that it's evolution

Well you know

We all want to change the world

But when you talk about destruction

Don't you know you can count me out

A future message all Thais should send MrThaksin

some thai people spotted him shopping in dubai with his wife (at GUCCI shop) while the reds are burning down bangkok.

Surely not even Thaksin would take his family shopping in Dubai, when having promised to return to lead his supporters & their children/grandchildren on the streets of Bangkok, against tanks & water-cannon & soldiers armed with blanks or whatever ? That really would be too sick for words. :o

Hey this is a bit late for April Fool Day :D

Mr & Mrs Shinawatra out shopping in Dubai

Since Mrs S. reportedly has the hump with him, that is presumably her at the back, or is Thaksin the camel's ass ? :D

Famous one liners from Mr T

Quit your jibba jabba fool

I pity the fool, thug, or soul who tries to take over the world...

I knew it. I knew it! All these rich folk are crooks!

You didn't have no plan. You didn't have no plan 'till now!

Meet 'big squirt,' fool!

Thaksins new family business venture at Maktoum Al Maktoum Al Maktoum Al Maktoum St, Dubai (3rd alley off the creek).

I pondered this for 3 seconds, thinking it might be politically correct...

Then I thought ME? incorrect?

What about him?

Ko Kong.... checking plans for his casino ...

this way he will drain the pockets of the Thais as

his revenge, then if they are all impoverished,

he will return and lead them as they deserve it!

In the meantime he is overlooking his new

Mayanmar-telecom-empire with the boys around

him with names like "Maung Maung" or "Than Shwe"

"Saw Maung" and "Soe Win" there was a "Ne Win" already...

he "parked" some 4 billion over there... so someone will be grateful,

so his other friend to the east, a Mr.Hun Sen with remarkable records!

Then there are rumors that he might be holding an african passport too,

guess where this one is issued...

harare...? Oooo... no!..Abuja? Engaging in some e-mail scams?

Monrovia....?

Ahhh... well one day we may or we may not know - but then who cares?
