Non-immigrant B

Featured Replies

When getting a 1 year multi-entry non-immigrant B visa, when does the year start counting down, when I get the visa issued, or when I actually enter Thailand.

I wish to get the visa, then go to another country for a few months before entering Thailand. Will I still get the FULL year?

Thanks

The Visa is Valid from the day it is issued. So yes you will lose some time if you apply early. Don't forget that if you do a border run the day before the Visa expires you get another 90 days giving a total of 15 months.

marked item should read "90" days!!!

Yes, Visa validity starts from the date of issue.

Well spotted. It was early this morning :o

Also remember that if you are trying to absolutely maximise the time in Thailand between border trips, using just in and out border crossings, your dates will not be 90+90+90 etc. as the last day of the current 90 days is also the first day of the next 90 day period.

I know I once made that mistake when using Excel to work out future border trips (and flights) and forgot to subtract a day from the calculation of 90+90 which is actually only 90-1+90 or 179 days. Your last entry, on the day your visa expires is still possible and not affected though.

The year starts at the day that your visa is issued! Like posted already 1 day before it expires you can get another 90 days.
